Set up your bike with low cost front or rear racks and night lights
I have been taking out large groups of low income families for many years and can't afford to pay big money for racks and lights, so have developed my own solutions.
The rear rack is two bent tubes of aluminium with carbon fibre top plate and hose clamps to attach it. Aluminium plates can be bolted to the side to support dry bags for touring gear. Anything to keep gear off my back is good
The front rack is bent 10mm aluminium rod that hooks over the handle bar stem and a strap tpo the forks stops it bouncing. It holds the dry bag off the handle bars so you can reach the brakes and gears, and is easy to remove the bag when you need it
The front lights can be bought from aliexpress and generally work well, but the mounts are usually crap. You need a system that is fast to put on (no screws) and robust. Bent aluminium and O rings work a treat with some old hand grip rubber under it to give it grip and stop it flopping down The head mounted lights I make from bent aluminium and 3D printed clip with 4mm bungee cord to hold it on. It is fast to put on and fits a very wide variety of helmetsA more detailed description of the lights and web links can be found here
